What this document covers
This drawing details the head and sill members for a single Xtend window. Pair it with the side profile to lay out the complete opening before ordering or framing.
- Header (top member) cross-section
- Sill (bottom member) cross-section
- Flange placement against the framing
- Brush weather-strip locations
- Sill sealant detail for water drainage
Key specifications at a glance
- Window height: frame opening less 1/4"
- Framing: 1" thick inset framing
- Extrusion: 16 ga powder-coated aluminum, approx. 1/16" thick
- Trim: exterior trim may be installed over the flanges; provided screws are flat-head and color matched
- Scale: 1:2
Installation notes
Sealant: apply sealant behind the flange, but never under the sill flange — leaving the sill flange unsealed lets any water that gets in drain back out. Weather strips: brush weather strips are positioned as shown on the drawing. Note: windows under 60" in height use 3-vent panels utilizing the 3 outer tracks.
