When planning a three-season porch, most of the attention naturally goes to the windows. But you still need a good way to get in and out.
That is where the Xtend Porch Door comes in.
Our door is built specifically to work with an Xtend porch enclosure. It has a sturdy 2" thick frame, a lockable handle, screen, and sweep, and is built more like a quality prehung exterior door than a lightweight screen door.
Standard or Custom Sizes
Our standard Xtend door opening is 36" × 80", but we can build custom doors up to 42" × 96".
We make single doors only. We do not manufacture double doors or French-door-style units.
Just like our windows, Xtend doors are ordered based on the opening size you provide. We manufacture the finished door approximately 1/4" smaller in width and height so it fits properly into the opening.
So a 36" × 80" door opening receives a door frame approximately 35 3/4" × 79 3/4".
In-Swing or Out-Swing?
Either can work.
An out-swing door generally provides the best weather seal, but an in-swing door may make more sense depending on your porch layout, stairs, furniture, or traffic flow.
This is something worth thinking about before you finalize your framing.
You Do Not Have to Use Our Door
Sometimes another door simply makes more sense for the project.
You may want a different style, a double-door setup, or a door from another manufacturer that better fits the look or function you want.
That is perfectly fine.
Our windows do not require you to use an Xtend door. If another door works better for your porch, we are happy to help plan the Xtend windows around it.
Plan the Door With the Windows
Especially on new construction, decide where the door will go before laying out the rest of the wall.
Door location can affect window widths, posts, transoms, railings, and the overall symmetry of the porch.
