What this document covers
This drawing gives the framing dimensions for laying out openings before the units arrive — single and mulled windows, doors, and fixed glass transoms — with the minimum mounting-surface widths the flanges require.
- Minimum and maximum window sizes (single and mulled)
- Maximum door size and required framed glass height
- Fixed glass transom dimensions
- Minimum mounting-surface widths to accept the mounting flanges
- Multiple views showing how windows, doors, and transoms frame together
Key dimensions at a glance
- Single or mulled window: 16"–18" minimum width, up to 108" height; mulled units have no maximum width (not load bearing)
- Door: up to 42" wide x 96" high, with 36" of framed fixed glass required and a 60" maximum below the transom
- Fixed glass transom: up to 48" wide x 96" high; all fixed glass units are one light
- Mounting surfaces: 1"–2" minimum widths shown to accept the flanges — wider is fine
Framing notes
All mounting surfaces must be in the same plane. The widths shown are minimums needed to accept the window and door mounting flanges — wider mounting surfaces are perfectly acceptable. The drawing is not to scale; use it for relationships and minimum dimensions, and refer to the individual profile and door drawings for exact cross-sections.
